Collaborative. Intense. Trustworthy.

We need your talent and expertise to help us do something great for over 100 million travellers: make booking stays and journeys more sustainable and straightforward. It involves technical challenges and the latest technology, but that’s ok by you – in fact, it’s exactly what you want. Most roles at Skyscanner can be either Full Time or Part Time.

We’re looking for engineering leaders who want their next step to be into Engineering Management. You don’t need to be a people manager today, but you will have had experience leading technically, mentoring other engineers, and helping set up your team to deliver. Most importantly, you should care about others and be happiest when you’re helping them to grow and succeed.

Our Engineering Manager Path program will give you a 6-month on-ramp to management - including training, networking, peer support and mentorship. You can read more about it here. You will have a small number of reports during this time to pair your learning with hands-on experience, and over time you will build up to managing a team of engineers. Engineering Managers at Skyscanner are hands-on, so there will still be plenty of opportunities to get into our tech stack too!

We work as a global team but in squads of 6 to 12 engineers and using Agile/Lean methodologies. We don’t need you to be a master of all the details of Scrum or Kanban, but you will be able to support your team in establishing sustainable flow to deliver on their objectives. You will need to work with colleagues in other teams and other disciplines together to make sure those collaborations turn into success for the company. Sometimes this will mean being able to break down shared milestones across multiple teams in multiple locations, sometimes it will mean influencing your peers’ thinking, and sometimes it will mean helping ensure the success of others by mentoring and coaching them effectively.

Already a global leader in travel, we want to elevate the way we work to a whole other level. In return, you’ll get meaningful things like medical insurance, headspace subscriptions, a home office allowance and the option to buy more holidays. You’ll have the opportunity to work from any country for 4 weeks a year, and 30 days in our other global offices. Everything, in other words, to help you relax and give your best.
