Catalent pharma solutions are looking to recruit an Engineering Manager to join the Nottingham site. The Engineering manager will manage and lead a team of facilities and maintenance engineers to ensure the ongoing performance, maintenance and compliance status of the site Utilities, Facilities and Equipment.

Catalent’s Nottingham facility focuses on early-stage development of small molecule drug candidates from the bench to clinic. This facility offers an array of services that support oral dosage forms that include characterization, formulation and analytical development, manufacturing and clinical packaging, labelling and worldwide distribution.

The Role
  • Leading from the front, prioritising day to day workload with a ‘hands on’ approach as appropriate.
  • Management of the Engineering budgets, PO approvals and oversight of overall spend in line with the site objectives, cost control disciplines and savings targets.
  • Ensure that the department operates in accordance with the applicable Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental standards and policies.
  • Oversee the management of vendors and sub-contractors to ensure that day to day operations continue without significant interruption and that proposals, quotations and methods are compliant with site and statutory requirements.
  • Overall responsibility for the accuracy and status of the CMM system
  • Ensure that all records and documentation are accurately maintained and retained in accordance with the statutory requirements
  • Ensure that the PPM and Calibration systems are maintained and completed in line with the internal Service Level agreements and provide the optimum level of support from the Engineering team to ensure the availability of spares and equipment.
  • Develop the Engineering team to deliver greater skills, knowledge and flexibility.
  • Work with the Operations team to deliver sustainable improvements in performance of critical assets
  • Carry out root cause analysis to eliminate the causes contributing to reduced equipment availability or efficiency.
  • Represent the team in a positive and professional manner during client visits, client audits and regulatory inspections acting as SME on key related competencies.
  • Oversee related projects to ensure that activities are delivered on time, on budget and in accordance with the appropriate statutory requirements.
The Candidate
  • A minimum of a Degree/HND/HNC in relevant engineering discipline with experience in a relevant sector (Pharmaceutical preferred) or equivalent experience working within a highly regulated environment (essential)
  • Minimum of two - three years managerial experience and a good understanding of appropriate engineering processes, practices and regulations. (essential)
  • Some experience of Lean methodologies (preferred but not essential)
