Catalent Pharma Solutions are seeking to recruit a Senior Software Developer to support our Clinical Supply Services (CSS) IT team supporting our various CSS sites throughout the UK and Europe.

The role of Senior Software Developerwill see you undertaking a leading role in improving and developing specialist applications that allow our Clinical Supply sites perform the range of services we provide to our valued Pharmaceutical clients.

The Role
  • Define, communicate, and manage a change management (release) process to develop and implement new applications/code and updates to existing applications/code
  • Write high-quality software code that complies with design specifications and meets development and support requirements.
  • Develop analytical proof-of-concepts quickly to respond to business needs and to determine feasibility and viability.
  • Take ownership of existing code and applications and advise on best practices for enhancing tools
  • Present and lead technology discussions between the business and IT; adopting best practices in framework design and development
  • Maintaining current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always on a lookout for new technologies and work with the team in bringing in new technologies.
  • Ability to work well with people and be both highly motivated and motivating
The Candidate
  • Bachelor of Science in an Engineering, Computer Science, or other relevant Science Field, or equivalent in working expertise
  • Related experience in designing technology solutions in Life Sciences industry
  • Experience in delivering large-scale distributed systems.
  • Hands on application experience using latest technology stack including Java 8, Spring framework, ASP.NET/.NET Core, MVC, Angular, Bootstrap, WebAPI, Javascript, jQuery, Web Services, REST concepts.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL and Stored Procedure database development (SQL Server, Oracle) is required; Experience handling large databases is required.
  • Strong technical understanding of Azure cloud and integration services.
  • Practical knowledge of production considerations such as version control, code libraries, source control systems, documentation, code reviews, Azure Devops.
  • Ability to articulate technical challenges and solutions to the team and must have worked in Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
