About The Opportunity

Our Structural Analysis and Assessment Team, based at our Booths Park office, Knutsford UK comprises a broad range of Engineering and Scientific experts spanning mathematics, physics, structural and mechanical engineering, coding/programming, finite element stress analysis and structural integrity analysis/assessment. We provide these services to a range of customers, mainly but not exclusively in the nuclear industry, to ensure the economic and safe operation of capital-intensive plant, from both government and private industry.We also actively participate in a number of national and international projects and work closely with other parts of Jacobs to provide integrated solutions to client requirements.

As the demand for our services grow there is an exciting opportunity for innovative and enthusiastic Engineering Analyst who can apply their skills and knowledge of programming, mathematical modelling and data analysis.As an Engineering Analyst you will use computational methods to evaluate the performance and in-service behaviour of components and structures within nuclear reactors and supporting plant.You will also be expected to support the development of the business through the identification, bidding, winning and delivery of projects to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Modelling critical client plant, such as aspects of a nuclear power station;
  • Producing high-quality, maintainable software.
  • Discussing and developing solutions with colleagues and customers;
  • Producing high-quality technical reports on the outcome of your work;
  • Interfacing with customers throughout the lifecycle of projects;
  • Delivering work to time, cost and quality to ensure customer satisfaction.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • A minimum of 2:1, ideally Master-level degree in a Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Software Development, or a related field;
  • Professionally accredited by recognised institute or be working towards this;
  • Experience and ability in programming, especially in Matlab, Python or Fortran;
  • Experience and ability in mathematical modelling;
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills;
  • Ability to interpret the results of models, relating them to the real world;
  • Ability to work in multi-disciplinary team environments and adapt to change

Due to our client requirements we will require you to be a British national with eligibility to obtain and maintain full UK security clearance (SC)
