About the role: We are looking for an Engagement & Progression Consultant who will promote opportunities for learners to participate in sector training and qualifications supported by the Education & Skills Funding Agency and will be responsible for sourcing suitable progression options for learners. The role will be to provide a link between Triage and Jobcentre Work Coaches, Employers and Key Partners, ensuring a regular flow of referrals on programme and job opportunities for learners to access. The Engagement & Progression Consultant will also facilitate awareness sessions to provide information on upcoming training, as well as completing eligibility checks to ensure learners are accessing the most suitable support.

Required criteria:

  • Performance driven with the ability to work to various targets including performance and quality measures
  • Exceptional communication, marketing and networking skills
  • Experience in employability, training, education or learning environments
  • Ability to motivate and encourage people, identifying learning needs and matching these to available options
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills with experience of being accountable for own work
  • Technical skills including strong literacy and numeracy skills, good computer/technology skills and good written communication/record keeping skills
  • Excellent communicator both verbal and written
  • Applicants must be mobile throughout the region as this role may include travelling to premises across Sunderland, Gateshead, County Durham and South Tyneside.

Desirable criteria:

  • Knowledge of welfare/benefits system
  • Possess high standards and have excellent organisational skills, being able to prioritise workloads and deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, target driven environment
  • Proven track record in driving online growth (preferred).
  • Experience in using current social media channels and tools in a business environment.
  • Experience of managing website content, including the use of CMS applications, editing and publishing tools.
  • Competent in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, with a working knowledge of database management

More details about the role:

Relationships & Stakeholder Management

  • To carry out engagement activities to raise awareness with referral partners about the benefits of participating in certified training
  • To be responsible for the lead generation and conversion to increase the number of people signing up to training.
  • To be accountable for identifying employer vacancies and placements that match the job goals of learners, aligning with training that supports local labour market opportunities
  • To build and foster long standing relationships with referral sources, such as National Careers Service, Jobcentre Plus, Local Enterprise Partnerships, Community Groups, Justice Services and other relevant organisations.
  • Work as part of a team towards individual and team targets
  • Proactively identify new opportunities to recruit new learners
  • To ensure that all data requirements are maintained, records are up to date accurate and deadlines for returns are made.
  • Create and develop engaging social media content.

Quality & Compliance

  • To manage sourced employer vacancies ensuring that all vacancies are tracked to closure of vacancy, filled or cancelled.
  • To maintain learners’ records to ensure audit and quality compliance that meets the needs of the contract holders
  • To process documentation accurately and timeously and work closely with the administration team to ensure appropriate information is collated for claim and statistical purposes.

People Motivation & Coaching

  • Provide ongoing support for learners to engage in a variety of different and innovative ways
  • Ensure a steady flow of referrals on programme by utilising marketing mediums, presentations and follow up phone calls.
  • Influence and persuade employers and partners to utilise Triage for their recruitment and training needs
  • Assist learners upon completion of training to secure further learning and employment opportunities.
  • Provide information, advice and guidance to learners to keep them motivated and engaged.
