Education and Experience
Essential
- Recognised degree in a relevant technical or business discipline
- Self-starter and able to work on own initiative with minimum supervision
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Computer literate, with good knowledge of MS Word, MS Powerpoint, and advanced
- 12-18 months experience in similar role working with large quantities of energy/utility
Energy & Carbon Analyst

- Working towards membership of recognised professional body
- A practical knowledge of data requirements and reporting schemes such as EUETS, UKETS,
• Energy / utilities background in billing, metering, invoice validation
- Experience of working for an established energy consultant or an energy bureau / supplier
- Recognised qualification in a relevant technical or business discipline
- Knowledge of energy bureau services
Skills and Characteristics
- Strong numerate, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Computer literate with advanced MS Excel skills
- High level of motivation and ability to work on own initiative.
- Organised with a pro-active approach with excellent time-keeping skills
- Excellent attention to detail and with the ability to multi-task
- A self-starter and strong team-player, flexible and able to work effectively without close
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to provide industry-leading customer service
to all internal and external customers.
General Objectives
The Energy & Sustainability Analyst will be expected to work on a wide range of projects either
individually or as part of a small team. Key objectives will be to:
- Take responsibility for the appointed projects, assignments or specified elements of a
- Deliver work of a high quality, often to demanding timescales, which meets the agreed
- Support other members of the team and company as required to meet personal, team and
- Comply with the company’s ISO 9001:2015 accredited Documented Management System
accreditation requirements.
- To represent JRP Solutions in a professional manner at all times.
- To communicate effectively and openly with all levels of staff within JRP Solutions and
customer’s organisations.
Energy & Carbon Analyst

The work will be varied, as dictated by customers’ and company requirements. The work will
include supporting the team and our customers in areas such as
- resolving gas, electricity, water billing and metering queries
- validating energy and water invoices
- sourcing meter data
- liaising with suppliers to resolve metering and billing issues
- analysing energy data for trends and saving opportunities
- administering M&T systems
- analysing energy trends and producing update briefings
- preparing expenditure, budget and energy usage reports
- Respond to clients professionally and timely where queries are raised
- Attendance of client meetings as required
- Supporting energy consultancy assignments. Typically these will require:
o Collecting and analysing energy data
o Preparing energy audit templates
o Calculate first pass of energy balance
- Supporting Net Zero (Scopes 1, 2 and 3) assignments. Typically these will require:
sector-appropriate Science Based Targets.
o Helping to analyse supply chain data and devise ‘process-based’ supplier engagement
- Supporting environmental and sustainability assignments. These could typically include:
o Collecting a range of environmental and related cost data
o Analysing the data to identify patterns and trends, relationships between resource
use and GHG emissions in relation to Net Zero targets, including formal Science Based
Targets
- Communicating regularly with JRP Solutions’ staff as necessary on job specific progress.
