As a part of theApplus+ Laboratories group, Applus+ 3C Test Ltd is a visionary testing facility based at Silverstone Technology Park whose focus is testing to the many requirements of the international standards to support our customer base in the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), vibration and environmental sectors.

We are currently looking for a EMC Test Technicianto join our team. The main responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Carry out testing on Clients equipment and sites to UKAS and / or 3C Test Standards as required. All work to be under the guidance of suitably qualified engineers.
  • Provide front line service / repair for all 3C Test equipment.
  • Install and commission new test equipment.
  • Construct test systems and arrangements for test work. Assist with the general laboratory duties associated with testing.
  • Monitor correct operation of test equipment and cables and report failures and breakages to the Quality Manager.
  • Carry out testing in an objective manner according to the 3C Test Technical Procedures and generally in accordance with the 3C Test quality manual.
  • Set-up and dismantle tests for and on behalf of the engineers. Perform daily checks on the set-ups to ensure satisfactory operation and note results of any such checks when required.
  • Assist in the general Housekeeping and maintenance activities of 3C Test.
  • Perform the necessary health and safety checks on electrical equipment as required by our health and safety policy

Requirements:

  • Ordinary National Diploma in Electronic Engineering or equivalent. Due to the nature of tasks, experience will also be taken as a suitable qualification level for this position.
  • A period of industrial training of 1 year in a related field of electronics is desirable but newly qualified personnel shall be given training as required.
  • The ability to accurately express test results in a written report is essential.
  • Soldering skills for electrical and electronic components is desirable with experience of discrete and SMT components.
  • Some knowledge of the operation of PCs and associated software (especially Word processors and Windows) is desirable.
