Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

A fast-growing engineering specialist business based in Northamptonshire are now looking to grow their highly skilled, innovative, and enthusiastic team with the addition to hire of a passionate Embedded Software Engineerto join the team and business to be working on class cutting edge, industry changing exciting projects.

The role:

As the Embedded Software Engineer, you’ll be working on an array of high-level exciting projects for new and emerging technologies to bring new products from concept through to production. The Embedded Software Engineering role offers the opportunity for a talented Embedded Software Engineer to genuinely push themselves and improve their skills further.

Salary:

The salary on offer for successful Embedded Software Engineer is £30,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on skillset & experience.

Embedded Software Engineer Key Skills:

  • 2-3+ years minimum industry experience
  • Full software development life cycle experience
  • Experience taking a product from initial idea creation right through to production
  • Embedded Software Programming in C, C++
  • Bare metal programming
  • Experience of Embedded software maintenance and debugging
  • Ability to read electronic schematics and component datasheets
  • Network interface – I2C, USB, UART, RS232/485, CAN, Ethernet
  • Experience in handling of testing and measurement equipment (Oscilloscope, signal generator, bench power supply etc.)
  • Version Control – GIT, SVN, Jira, Mercurial
  • Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary R&D team, as well as on individual projects

Highly advantageous nice to have skills:

  • Embedded Operating Systems (FreeRTOS, Yocto, Embedded Linux, QNX, VxWorks etc)
  • Scripting experience - Python, Bash, etc.
  • MISRA C
  • Experience with Unit Testing and Static Analysis
  • Experience with C#.NET
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments and embedded Linux
  • Experience with STM32 product family and architecture
  • Experience with HDL (VHDL or Verilog)
