Role: Primary School Teacher

Location: Christchurch

Salary: Competitive (based on the teacher scale - MPS/UPS)

Start Date: January 2024

GSL Education is currently partnering with a distinguished Primary School in Christchurch, Dorset, in the pursuit of a dynamic and dedicated full-time teacher. This presents an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to become an integral part of the successful Physical Education department at our esteemed school.

While the school primarily caters to mainstream primary education, teachers may also be involved in supporting students with Special Education Needs on a 1:1 or in small groups. Therefore, any prior experience or knowledge of SEN is highly desirable.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree
  • Teaching Certification (QTS/QTLS/PGCE)
  • In-depth knowledge of the primary school curriculum and teaching methodologies
  • Previous experience in a primary school is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience, adaptability, and a genuine love for education
  • Ability to craft engaging and inclusive lesson plans

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver creative and engaging lessons tailored to diverse learning styles
  • Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and collaboration
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to create a conducive learning atmosphere
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback to students and parents
  • Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student development and well-being
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices
  • Create a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to express themselves and take risks
