Your part in the performance

Join Gear4music’s fast-paced product team as a compliance specialist for its Own Brand products. Reporting to the Product Manager, you’ll help to ensure all products meet and exceed the high quality control and compliance standards set by the company.

You’ll be conducting, reporting and feeding back on total product strip downs of all kinds of musical instruments and pro audio equipment, testing to various in-house test procedures such as PAT, ErP, RoHS, LVD, RF, load and flammability tests, just to name a few! You will liaise with overseas factories, distribution centres and the product team to ensure all technical queries and issues are resolved.

You will advise design and product teams to ensure all new own-brand products are in line with relevant standards, by proofing silkscreen, packaging and manual designs for relevant compliance markings, guidance and warnings, all to procurement deadlines.

You will also help the wider compliance team to report and feedback on batch reports, and resolve any matters with the relevant stakeholders.

Your Skills and Experience: What We’re Looking For

You will enjoy getting stuck in and hands on, and in particular, you’ll know your way around the insides of electronic and electrical products. You prefer working to a methodical workflow for product testing and reporting.

• A technical background, particularly with electronic and electrical product design/assessment experience.
• Fastidious, logical and meticulous approach to tasks, with a keen eye for detail.
• Clear, concise written and verbal communication essential, as some contacts will be overseas.
• Capable of working with multiple tasks at once.
• Good IT skills and experience working with technical files and documentation.
• Knowledge of CE and UKCA regulations (LVD, EMC, RED, ErP, REACH, RoHS) preferable.
• Basic knowledge of musical instruments and equipment desirable but not essential.
