Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe and professional manner.
  • Assist in the development of planned preventative maintenance schedules (PPM).
  • Carry out PPM schedules as necessary and planned works orders as required.
  • Assist visiting specialist engineers when necessary.
  • Report breakdown root cause, equipment faults and concerns to line Manager.
  • Perform troubleshooting to solve minor repair issues.
  • Make full use of CMMS.
  • Plan/prioritize workload to support production and ensure efficient use of working time.
  • Assist in the meeting of daily production plan.
  • Fill in job tickets/ CMMS on completion of work accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Typical example of work would be to respond to maintenance request for equipment fault, diagnose fault, repair and return equipment to operational service. All work to be carried out operating in a safe and efficient manner. (a process of dynamic risk assessments operated).
  • Identify spares requirements, log usage and aid in control.
  • Assist in the moving, installation and repositioning of machines and equipment.
  • To work in compliance with the Health & Safety Policy to ensure hazards are identified and risk assessed and controlled.
  • To be proactive in managing personal health, safety and wellbeing and that of colleagues.
  • Ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to safety.
  • To work in an efficient manner by performing duties in such a way as to not affect the environment negatively, waste materials unnecessarily, damage company property or effect the success of the team of which one is a member.
  • To protect the general security of the site and the people working in it.
  • To ensure any process change or improvement complies with all relevant health and safety policies.
  • All communication requirements to be conducted in a professional, positive and clear manner.
  • To be respectful of other colleague’s views and ideas at all times, to build constructive working relationships.
  • To communicate change effectively, supporting effected individuals, monitoring transition and evaluating results
  • To work as part of the team in which they are a member, suggesting ways to continually improve in a creative and inspirational manner and to have a positive, example setting approach to all challenges.

Minimum NVQ level 3 Diploma in maintenance Engineering.

Time served apprenticeship with minimum 5-year experience in manufacturing industry.

Salary: Up to £32,000.00 per year
