EqualEngineers are pleased to bring to market an exciting new opportunity with a fast-growing energy hardware start-up experiencing exceptional growth.

It is an exciting time for the company with major plans in place who are looking for skilled Electrical Engineers to join them in the world-renowned Harwell Campus to design, patent and commercialise first-of-a-kind energy technologies globally, across a wide range of industries in a fast-paced environment.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Understand and model the fundamental working of a first-of-a-kind technology.
  • Plan, perform and assess the data from lab-scale experiments or tests.
  • Design, build and test electrical circuits from first principles.
  • Provide direction on further research paths for the technology.
  • Develop your knowledge and proactively identify solutions.
  • Work with scientists and engineers to test and validate.
  • Assist in the writing of patents and documentation.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement across a broad range of areas including document management and health and safety.
  • Clearly articulate to internal and external stakeholders the function, performance, and development of the technology.

Requirements

  • Degree level qualification in electrical engineering or relevant field.
  • Experience in a research and/or product development role.
  • Excellent understanding of electrical circuit theory.
  • Experience working with high voltage power sources.
  • Experience designing, or working with, power electronics circuits at high voltages.
  • MATLAB / Simulink, especially Simscape Electrical
  • Experience Designing, building and testing electronic assemblies.
  • Embedded software for microcontrollers or similar devices.
  • Experience designing commercial products.
