Salary: £15.50 per hour negotiable - dependent on experience

Location: Scarborough – travel to different locations – clean driving licence essential

Permanent, 40 hours per week

We provide quality tailor-made installations that exceed our customers’ expectations within a timely manner using highly skilled, trained electricians. We are now recruiting an experienced Electrical Engineer.

The successful candidate will use their skills, knowledge and experience and will be highly motivated, with a flexible, “can-do” approach.

Job purpose:

As an electrical engineer, you’ll design, develop, and maintain electrical systems and components to required specifications. Your work will focus on economy, quality, reliability, safety & sustainability.

The electrical equipment that you’ll design, and manufacture may be used across many sectors, including the building industry and services, lighting, heating and ventilation, transportation and transport networks, manufacturing and construction, production, and distribution of power & renewable energy.

You will be multi-skilled and could be involved in projects from the concept and detail of the design, through to implementation, testing and handover. You may also work on maintenance programmes.

It’s likely you’ll work in multidisciplinary project teams, which can include engineers from other specialist areas as well as architects, marketing and sales staff, manufacturers, technicians, and customer service personnel.

Main duties and responsibilities:

The work can vary according to the industry in which you are working, but typically you’ll need to:

• Complete all areas of the Job Card system accurately and in a timely manner.
• Identify customer requirements.
• Design systems and products
• Read design specifications and technical drawings.
• Research suitable solutions and estimate costs and timescales.
• Liaise with others in the design team.
• Communicate with clients and contractors.
• Attend meetings on site where required.
• Design and conduct tests.
• Record, analyse and interpret test data.
• Propose modifications and retest products.
• Qualify and approve the final product or system.
• Service and maintain equipment.
• Prepare product documentation and write reports.
• Monitor a product in use to improve on future design.

Qualifications and/or experience required:

• Excellent maths, science, technology, and IT skills
• The ability to analyse complex problems and assess possible solutions.

• Excellent team working and people skills.
• A comprehensive understanding of electrical health and safety regulations.
• 18th Edition compliant or willingness to complete.
• Have or are working towards up-to-date Test & Inspection regulation.
• Hold or working towards ECS card.
• Have AM2 Certificate of Electro Technical Occupancy Competence
