Job DescriptionElectrical Control & Instrumentation EngineerWarringtonFull timeWhy Rolls-Royce?An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Control & Instrumentation Engineerwithin the Civil Nuclear sector.As a member of the Systems Design & Integration Team, you will be responsible for defining and integrating the electrical, control and instrumentation scope within the project. You will support procurement of EC&I equipment to ensure suppliers are familiar and compliant with the engineering requirements of the contract. A significant portion of this will focus on verifying equipment will perform within its operating environment (equipment qualification). You will manage the signal exchanges between client and in-scope equipment.   • Undertake design schemes of EC&I equipment associated with the project you are involved with, specifically focussing on managing the control, operation and integration of said systems.
  • Produce and review design manuals (operation and maintenance manuals), single line diagrams, loop diagrams and other design reports/documents necessary to record design rationale, assumptions and convey information.
  • Control and manage interface definitions/information both internal to Rolls-Royce and externally with clients and suppliers.
  • Work with suppliers to define and carryout appropriate Substantiation, Verification and Validation of equipment and systems.
  • Define cable routing and layouts.

  • Knowledgeable and able to apply relevant UK, European and Worldwide Standards.
  • Experience of designing EC&I integrated systems in safety critical environments including documenting design rational and substantiation. Ideally the experience should relate to selecting/defining instrumentation for nuclear applications, design of low voltage electrical installations and articulating control requirements to control equipment suppliers.
  • An appropriate engineering degree is required.
  • The candidate shall demonstrate a strong grasp of the English language and technical report writing skills.
  • Competent in developing and reviewing Block Cable Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Control Logic Diagrams.
