The EHS Advisor executes relevant EHS activities in line with clear policies and procedures in order to minimize EHS risks across our Teesside and Paddington sites.

Johnson Matthey’s Catalyst Technologies (CT) sector is a market leader in the syngas value chain. Your responsibilities:
  • Health: Responsible for supporting health and welfare promoting programs; supporting attendance and return to work strategies; supporting on matters relating to occupational health
  • Safety: Responsible for monitoring and reporting on site safety plans; responding to incidents and learning events; supporting behavioural safety initiatives; supporting technical and process safety issues; and supporting reduction in risk to chemical exposure.
  • Environment: Responsible for supporting an environmental management framework for the business/site; supporting statutory requirements such as emission levels, effluent discharge, waste management etc. are adhered to through all activities.
  • Provides support on matters relating to EHS, including at EHS committee & consultation meetings; and employs tools & techniques to improve EHS performance
  • Maintains existing EHS programs and policies with responsibility for auditing, as well as reviewing/updating procedures.
  • Effectively conducts a range of risk and health assessments at the site.

Requirements for the role:
  • NEBOSH certificate
  • Basic/vocational education with some relevant EHS workplace experience
  • Qualified to a degree level (with a technical/Scientific/EHS focus)
  • Experience working in the chemical industry
