Berkshire CAMHS are excited to be recruiting two supervising practitioners for the new Schools Mental Health Support Team (MHST) in Slough. The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting programme funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community. Our teams are Wave 4 of MHST roll out and this opportunity allows you to join a newly created team.

Across Berkshire East there is a specific focus on developing the general culture of emotional, behavioural and mental health support within all primary and secondary schools. Working alongside community partners in the Borough Council Early Help Hub, the Mental Health Support Teams

will be integrated with community CAMHS Getting Help team, multi-agency early help services and educational settings. There will be close links with specialist CAMHS to ensure a seamless approach to care for children and young people.

About you:

We seek to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic practitioner who is passionate about CAMHS), with a demonstrable track record of CAMHS clinical experience and, ideally some supervisory experience. You will be a CAMHS professional registered with a professional body. Ideally you

will be confident in delivering high intensity CBT interventions (have / be eligible for full accreditation with the BABCP) and have some experience of supervising clinicians and will be prepared to undertake the Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHP supervisors training course within the CYP IAPT programme. Applications from experienced CWPs / EMHPs will also be considered, where demonstrable CAMHS and supervision experience will be key.

Working collaboratively with identified leads in the schools, the Team Lead and other senior colleagues, the supervising practitioner role for MHST will be to support the delivery of all interventions provided by the Education Mental Health Practitioners, ensuring that a wide range of evidence based interventions are used to support young people’s mental. You will support leadership and will be involved in the development of the MHST alongside the senior psychological therapist, team lead and other senior colleagues in the service and within the borough.

The post is employed by Berkshire Healthcare CAMHS but with accountability to the Berkshire East Getting Help Project Board.
