The Assessment and Rehabilitation Centres provide a valuable service working with patients to help them to maintain independence and well-being in their own homes and communities, avoiding admission to the Acute Hospital. The team provides Medical, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Nursing support and intervention to older patients with complex needs. We give patients time and attention working to consider all aspects of their mental, physical and social health.

The Administration and Clerical team are fundamental in supporting the clinical staff with this aim and are valued staff members. We look forward to welcoming a new Medical Secretary to our friendly team. You must have audio typing skills and have had previous secretarial experience. If you are efficient in prioritising your own workload and enjoy patient contact, and liaising with outside agencies, this role could be for you. Other tasks will include document management and dealing with incoming post and queries. You will also have a responsibility for supporting the Doctors with the organisation of their clinical and patient related activities.

The post will be based at St Marks Hospital, but may also spend time at Upton Hospital Slough. There is free parking on both sites.

  • Opening and distributing all incoming post
  • Meeting and greeting patients
  • Calling to arrange appointments/Completing covid calls
  • Production of letters and sending letters in a timely manner
  • Exchanging verbal and written information with patients, staff and carers relating to appointments
  • Provide high quality comprehensive secretarial and administrative service
