The Compliance and Case Management Team are seeking to employ a permanent, 37 hour a week Education Inclusion Officer, to work in partnership with a multitude of agencies, services and schools, to secure positive outcomes for children and young people.

The successful candidate would be expected to commence their contract with the team as soon as possible.

As part of your role, you have responsibility to carry out casework in relation to school attendance, children missing in education, Elective Home Education, looked after children in education, alternative provision and exclusions. You will be expected to support families through the school exclusion process with appropriate challenge where necessary.

The successful candidate will be expected to initiate legal proceedings in respect of irregular school attendance and the activation of School Attendance Orders and may be called to give evidence in the court process.

You will also be required to work in with multi-agency partners to identify and overcome individual barriers to learning and impact positively on the life chances on all our children and young people, including those in care and North Lincolnshire’s identified vulnerable groups.

You should possess personal attributes such as the ability to relate to and communicate effectively with children, young people and adults in an empathic way, developing rapport with children, young people and their families, as well as handling difficult and sensitive situations in a calm and confident manner.

You will be able to identify effective ways of delivering early intervention and support to children and the family as a whole. The role carries a varied and intensive workload that will require significant self manage and case management skills.

The successful candidate will have a good standard of education and will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
