What To Expect

The purpose of the role is to be a first point of contact and coordinate inputs from external stakeholders regarding EDU design changes and be capable of assessing the impacts on the design integration of the complete EDU and ensure designs are compatible with all stakeholder requirements. The role requires the individual to liaise with cross functional stakeholders (e.g. Component owners, EDU attribute team, vehicle packaging, manufacturing engineering, service…), to ensure their requirements are understood and correctly considered into the relevant product backlog.

What You’ll Need

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Resolve issues with component engineering and vehicle attribute teams to develop designs that meet targets,
    • Ensure all knowledge gained through issue resolution is captured in relevant corporate repository (DFMEA, design standards etc.)
  • Ensure all appropriate JLR standards are met through-out design maturation.
  • Provide input into new feature development.
  • Ensure all programme design solutions meet:
    • Programme targets for cost and weight
    • Support project gateway check point reviews
  • Undertake any other work as directed by their line manager in connection with their job as may be requested.

Knowledge, Skills And Experience

Essential:

  • Previous experience of managing resolution of business, technical and process issues within a Project Team environment
  • A good working knowledge of product creation & delivery, change control, product definition and change management processes.
  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Previous experience of working with internal and external partners and ability to deal with multiple inputs and arbitrate between the requests and the deliverable output.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience with development of BEV driveline systems or driveline major units
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong influencing and engagement skills
  • Experience with vehicle engineering packaging requirements
