Do you have a knack for organising and a keen eye for detail?

Are you creative, curious and brimming full of ideas?

An exciting, entry-level opportunity has arisen at Vintage. Vintage publishes some of the greatest writers and thinkers from around the world and across the ages; writers who have invented new worlds and explored their own; who have captured imaginations and won dozens of prizes, from the Nobel and the Booker to the Pulitzer and beyond. Home to the prestigious and well-respected hardback imprints Bodley Head, Chatto & Windus, Hogarth, Jonathan Cape, Harvill Secker, Yellow Jersey, Square Peg and with a catalogue of over 6,000 titles, including the iconic red-spine Vintage Classics. Our authors range from world-class prize-winners to emerging talent, including Toni Morrison, Margaret Atwood, Jo Nesbo, Afua Hirsch, Rukmini Iyer, Ocean Vuong and Ian McEwan.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Editorial Assistant to join us on an initial 6-month FTC, to work across the hardback imprints. Reporting to the Publisher, your primary role will be working with the imprint-specific editorial assistants on a rotating basis, providing administrative and editorial support to help facilitate the smooth running of the different lists.

Duties will range from general office admin such as mailing advance proofs, sending author copies, processing payments and invoicing, to clearing permissions and reading submissions. Alongside this, you will be responsible for keeping track of book prize deadlines and entries for the division.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, extremely organised and efficient, and able to juggle a demanding and diverse workload in a confident and professional manner. Other requirements include a precise eye for detail and an ability to meet daily deadlines; expertise in using Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Teams, would be an advantage.

This is an excellent entry-level position, offering a chance to work with the entire breadth of Vintage publishing.

Please apply with a CV and cover letter by Sunday 5th September.
