About The Role

Astute Technical Recruitment are working with a leading producer of Renewable Energy in the United Kingdom to recruit an Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Engineer. We are looking for an Engineer who has a C&I bias and experience working on DCS systems as well as instrumentation.

Responsibilities And Duties

Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Being the site expert for electrical assets and C&I systems
  • Leading and supervising a team of EC&I Technicians responsible for pre-planned and reactive maintenance work
  • The preparation of technical specifications and execution of site EC&I projects safely and within budget
  • Providing technical direction to operations and maintenance personnel and identifying areas of improvements
  • Directing and supervising on site contractors
  • Ensuring HSE compliance at all times.
  • Covering for the day-to-day management of the Operations and Maintenance coordination when required

Professional Qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Candidates must have a minimum HNC / ONC / HND in electrical, electronic or control engineering
  • Excellent technical knowledge of PLC, DCS, Instrumentation and Electrical systems
  • Significant engineering/maintenance experience gained in a heavy process environment e.g. power station, chemical plant, refinery, steel works etc
  • An IOSH or NEBOSH certificate
