Faculty / Directorate

The Doctoral College at De Montfort University co-ordinates research degree programmes across the four faculties and research institutes. Sitting within the Research Services Directorate, the Doctoral College supports over 700 research students and 500 supervisors to ensure an effective and efficient service.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Doctoral College at DMU as student numbers are at their highest ever, and we are gearing up to the next step change, enhancing our position in doctoral training partnerships, and building on our collaborative frameworks to strategically deepen our relationships with international partner institutions.

Role

This role combines the operational with a strong strategic element. The Doctoral College Manager leads the Admissions and Lifecycle Teams. Key responsibilities are to develop, implement, and monitor the growth of research degree activity across the University, supporting collaborative and partnership arrangements with institutions in the UK and overseas, and working with the faculties and other key parts of the University to ensure compliance with institution-wide regulatory and governance mechanisms (Student and Academic Services), as well as horizon-scanning and working with the International Office to grow international PGR numbers sustainably.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual, with a thorough understanding of the research degree process, and highly skilled in developing effective relationships – with the Doctoral College team, research students, their supervisors and other key stakeholders. You will lead the Doctoral College Team, developing systems and procedures to effectively support the management of research degrees at De Montfort University.
