Job description

The Challenge
The DEx Risk and Assurance Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating DIO’s response to Governmental requirements on risk and assurance activities, specifically for Data and Information. The successful candidate will be required to enable relationships within Data Exploitation (DEx) and with principal stakeholders to ensure that responsible teams operate together, and the resultant activities satisfy the organisations requirements.

The role works across a wide range of customers and is part of the Business Management team working collaboratively with the DEx Operational Insight and Business Management Assistant Head.

This team holds delegated responsibility on behalf of the SCS Head of DEx for handling the day to day running of the directorate and for ensuring DEx compliance with the assurance and risk regimes. This role supports those activities, feeding into the wider requirements of the S&P Central Coordination Function.

We employ approximately 4,900 staff from a very diverse range of professions, and we work across the world; in Germany, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands, Norway, Poland, Kenya, Belize, Nepal and Oman.

Responsibilities

Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
  • Be responsible for the development of Information and risk assurance across DEx, ensuring DEx remains compliant within the requirements of the organisation and supporting teams to identify and raise risks as appropriate
  • Demonstrate experience of monitoring programmes of work with the ability to systematically identify and record risks and issues, planning how to mitigate and respond.
  • Demonstrate solid understanding of implementing risk management process.
  • Support and brief on risk maturity in terms of adoption of risk management principles and risk forecasting to senior leaders across DEx
  • Understanding the impact of quantitative risk analysis and the results
  • Work closely across DEx Senior Leaders to implement standard methodology around risk management and analysis.
  • Demonstrate a structured approach in tackling issues and tasks, together with strong evidence of good attention to detail.
  • Be a highly organised and strong teammate.
  • Experience in maintaining relationships with colleagues and collaborators, in order to ensure good working relations and negotiated results.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills are needed.

Desirable Experience & Skills
Knowledge of Information Assurance Management and GDPR processes.

Essential Experience & Skills
  • Experience of the Enterprise Risk Management Process
  • Experience of Auditing and Business Assurance Management

The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is the estate expert for Defence, supporting the armed forces to enable military capability by planning, building, maintaining, and servicing infrastructure.

Our responsibilities include:
  • Plan and deliver major capital projects and lifecycle refurbishment
  • Provide utilities services
  • Manage soft facilities management (i.e. cleaning and catering)

Employment Hours
