Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is recruiting for a Digital Twin Lead (Physical) to lead the delivery of our digital twin (physical) projects. They will be responsible and accountable for the delivery of high-quality, fully functioning digital twins to our clients, aligned to their requirements and contractual requirements. They will provide leadership and governance for both the individual projects they are assigned to and our overall programme of digital twin (physical) projects, identifying and helping to implement digitalisation initiatives globally.

The successful candiadte will need to bring value to our digital twin projects by shaping proposal content and early client engagements, validating proposed delivery solutions and defining project boundaries. They will help to shape and structure Wood’s digital twin (physical) projects, in alignment with our Strategy and business requirements, providing thought leadership around digital twin delivery and the global digital twin (physical) delivery model.

They will also have team management responsibilties, building and leading our digital twin delivery team.

Principal accountabilities include:
  • Digital Twin Lead for specific client contracts, acting as key client focal point and managing all associated activities, including planing, budget, resources, delivery and close out
  • Evaluating digital twin (physical) project(s) across their lifecycle to ensure delivery against business and client expectations and all applicable OKRs / KPIs
  • Assessing technologies and vendors and providing proof of concepts
  • Preparing commercial bids, tenders and quotations
  • Interfacing with potential clients to define and win new scopes of work
  • Interfacing with existing clients to develop new business opportunities, improvement and growth
  • Nurturing ongoing digital twin client relationships and suggesting continuous improvement
  • Establishing Wood as the provider of choice for digital twin (physical) scopes
  • Managing budgets, costs and resourcing across teams, contracts and projects where applicable
  • Preparing monthly cost and progress reports and attending client performance review meetings where applicable
  • Implementing and maintaining new business strategies and project control processes to ensure that best practice is consistently achieved
  • Share best practices and learnings globally, optimise technology costs, benchmark performance
  • Provide thought leadership on digital twin delivery and Wood’s global digital twin (physical) delivery model

Skills / Qualifications:
Qualifications:
  • University Degree (bachelors or masters) in Computer Science or related discipline (or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience)

Job specific experience:
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience delivering digital solutions in Energy Sector or related field industries
  • Minimum of 5 years experience delivering analytics/predictive analytics solutions and/or digital twins
  • Strong experience in project management delivery
  • Expert in stakeholder management with experience in managing challenging interfaces and developing strong customer relationships
  • Experience of implementing successful project performance improvement activities and techniques for recovering poor performance
Areas of Expertise:
  • Deep knowledge of solution and data architecture, data processing, analytics and IoT systems, with strong capabilities across a range of technologies
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering complex digital twin (physical) projects. This should include creation, testing, deploying and scaling digital twin solutions in the operations environment
  • Specific experience in digital twins and asset performance management
  • Able to identify and implement architecture best practices and standards
  • Technical knowledge to required to lead system and solution mapping, scalability, availability and performance activities
  • Good team leadership and people management skills
  • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and the capability to communicate and work well with the leadership team, the business, as well as with specialists from related fields, including project managers, database developers, software engineers and data scientists
  • Agile mindset and understands Scrum methodology (preferred)
  • Excellent influencing and reasoning skills; good at conflict resolution and consensus building
IT Skills:
  • Strong working knowledge of OPC, ETL, IoT and related technologies
  • Familiarity with Bentley, Aveva and / or Hexagon would be an advantage
  • Strong understanding of solution and data architecture
  • Data science skills advantageous
