Overview / Responsibilities:

Wood is currently recruiting for a Principal Piping Engineer with experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry to provide the provision of Principal Piping engineering services.


  • Check and approve piping design documentation
  • Check and approve piping engineering documentation
  • Approval of PED technical files
  • Utilise BP standards for pipework design and procurement
  • Selection of piping materials for specific applications
  • Specification of piping materials, manual valves, pipe fittings and flanges
  • Completiom of technical evaluations on piping materials and fittings
  • Review and approval of vendor documentation and certification
  • Review of PDMS/E3D model for piping and plant layout
  • Review of PDMS/E3D model for clash checking
  • Review of dimensional control survey data for clash checking
  • Review of cloud scan survey data for clash checking
  • Provide technical expertise
  • Executing assigned scopes of work
Skills / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HNC / HND or equivalent professional qualification with extensive relevant experience

Minimum Experience:

  • Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at relevant level and position
