Overview:

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Manager with a strong background in no and low code solutions, specifically in Microsoft Dynamics and PowerApps.

The ideal candidate will join to join the Business Transformation team at LNER but work with the key roles across the business e.g., Solutions Architecture, IT Infrastructure, and InfoSec, to lead and manage the DevOps to ensure the Transformation Programme can deliver at pace, and the seamless integration, deployment, and maintenance of no/low code applications. This role is pivotal in driving efficiency, reliability, and collaboration across the organisation, enabling our teams to leverage the full potential of Microsoft’s powerful no/low code platforms.

This is a vital component of the Business Process Improvement workstream, supporting across three areas:

  • Automation Discovery: Process and tasks mapping across HQ.
  • Low/ No Code Solutions: i.e., PowerApps. E.g., Performance Planning tool, Engineering Assurances Processes, and Customer Experience, for People Management.
  • Deploying Digital Workers / Assistants: new digital tools deployed across HQ.

This role requires a seasoned professional, and excellent influencer, problem solver and stakeholder collaborator.


Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Lead, inspire and influence across the Digital and IT teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Set clear goals, provide guidance, and conduct regular performance evaluations.

No/Low Code DevOps Strategy:

  • Develop and implement a robust DevOps strategy tailored for no/low code solutions, and for the Business Process Improvement (automation) portfolio.
  • Ensure the continuous integration, delivery, and deployment pipelines are optimised for Microsoft Dynamics and PowerApps.

Automation and Orchestration:

  • Design and implement automation processes to streamline no/low code application development, testing, and deployment.
  • Develop and maintain orchestration workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with development, testing, and operations teams to establish seamless workflows and communication channels.
  • Work closely with Microsoft Dynamics and PowerApps developers to optimize their development and deployment processes.

Infrastructure Management:

  • Oversee the management of infrastructure supporting no/low code solutions, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security.
  • Implement best practices for cloud-based infrastructure, with a focus on Azure.

Monitoring and Performance:

  • Establish and maintain monitoring solutions to ensure the performance and reliability of no/low code applications.
  • Proactively identify and address bottlenecks and performance issues.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce security best practices for no/low code solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Documentation:

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for DevOps processes, procedures, and configurations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant areas e.g., Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a DevOps Manager with a focus on no/low code solutions.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics and PowerApps.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and best practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Azure.
  • Proficiency in automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Azure DevOps).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
