Park Cameras is a leading independent specialist photography retailer, with state-of-the-art stores in Burgess Hill and central London. We aspire to sell great kit, at great prices, with honest advice and always with a smile. As well as selling the latest gear, we buy & sell used equipment and offer a wide range of photo printing services and photographic courses. We offer unrivalled customer service and superior product knowledge, maintaining a range of more than 15,000 new and used products with next-day delivery available through our fast-growing internet business. Established over 50 years ago and recently employee-owned, we now employ over 65 people and have won over 75 customer service awards.

The Role

A great opportunity has arisen to run the e-commerce and marketing teams. The company plans to double its web revenues in the next 24 months with even greater growth in the circular economy part of the business, which presents an exciting challenge for the right person. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will be responsible for managing all aspects the company’s marketing and e-commerce - including managing and developing the company’s website, organic and paid traffic generation and delivering online sales. You will manage all aspects of online marketing leading to traffic generation including SEO, PPC, social media, email marketing and online content (website, social media pages, blog etc). You will work closely with external agencies and our commercial and finance teams to meet the company’s objectives. You will be an integral part of the Senior Management Team of the business, helping to shape the business of today and of the future.

The Person

You will be a proven digital/multi-channel leader having previously demonstrated your ability to transform digital performance across consumer goods markets. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and energetic with a positive outlook, be highly organised and very attentive to detail. You will be analytical in approach, strong numerically, commercially aware and focussed on delivering results. You will have a deep understanding of e-commerce strategy and online buyer behaviour and be able to manage the purchase funnel.

An interest in photography, and a natural enthusiasm for acquiring technical knowledge of new cameras, lenses and accessories, would be extremely beneficial (but is not a necessity).

Key Responsibilities

Strategy
  • Plan and execute the multichannel marketing strategy for the company
  • Develop regular insightful analysis and reporting on web analytics and establish appropriate business plans as a result
  • Budget management - achieve revenue and margin targets whilst managing marketing spend within agreed budgets
  • Overseeing the company’s strategy for content development, maintaining an integrated online/offline marketing content calendar
  • Oversee the implementation of the online and offline marketing strategy
  • Develop a brand strategy
Acquisition
  • Paid search - manage PPC strategy, including management of web agencies, focussed on understanding product-line profitability and ROI by product
  • Natural search - manage the SEO strategy including keyword selection and monitoring, and developing strategies to improve SERPS results
  • Affiliates - develop a profitable business plan for working with appropriate affiliates
  • Media buying - negotiating best-value online media and oversee offline marketing expenditure
Conversion
  • CRO - review and analyse current performance (A/B testing, call to action, copy quality, heatmaps, colours etc.)
  • CJO - mapping potential obstacles and opportunities to improve customer journey and build long-term customer relationships
CRM
  • Email marketing - producing regular informative email campaigns, analysing campaign performance, developing strategies for database list growth
  • Social media - managing the company’s existing social media presence, on Facebook, Twitter & Instagram and other new platforms as required
  • Reviews - managing and developing strategies for product and company reviews
Website
  • Developing and managing all aspects of online marketing campaigns
  • Company website - development of the parkcameras.com desktop and mobile sites including content generation, technical development and site evolution, with insight into the purchase funnel and traffic drop-out points and strategies to remove buying hurdles
  • CMS - ensuring products are promptly and accurately uploaded with fresh unique content
USED
  • Work with commercial team to provide expertise on industry best practices and principles to generate and implement new sales and marketing initiatives to increase sales and profitability
Team Management
  • The successful candidate will manage and develop a team of 6 ecommerce/ marketing professionals, with the scope to grow the team further.
