The Global Business Generation (GBG) team, based in the UK, are the custodians and drivers of best practice and expertise across all aspects of marketing and business development: brand and comms, digital and social media, winning bids and key client management.

The GBG team is refreshing its strategy and approach. There is real energy and enthusiasm to make an impact, as experts in our field. This will require us to ask difficult questions at times and be resilient in a fast-paced environment. The team is closely aligned to the company’s leadership and collaborate daily with regional business generation colleagues, based globally.

We are now looking for an experienced Digital Manager to manage Turner & Townsend’s website, support all aspects of web marketing and provide wider technical support across our digital channels and platforms. The duties will be diverse and multi-faceted, and excellent technical skills are vital for this role. In return, the role offers an opportunity for the right individual to make a real impact.

You’ll have experience working in a B2B environment and be comfortable interacting with people of all levels. You’ll also have an excellent understanding of digital marketing platforms and development, and be confident in managing agencies, with a strong grasp of digital marketing and eager to immerse yourself in the role to develop your skills.

Excellent technical knowledge and project management skills are essential, while strong stakeholder management, the ability to multi-task and prioritise workload, and attention to detail are also key.

Job Description
  • Manage and deliver a major web project to refresh the Turner & Townsend website and upgrade the content platform
  • Maintain the corporate website and, working with the Global Digital Marketing Lead and wider team, help plan and steer the development roadmap for the website and MarTech platforms
  • Conduct testing and validate new features and functionality
  • Report on and analyse web channel performance and lead on implementation and rollout of Google Analytics 4 and related dashboards
  • Manage our web agency and other digital agencies and suppliers as required
  • Identify and deliver technical upgrades to our digital technologies
  • Advise on UX and review regularly to identify issues and improve UX across the website and other related channels and platforms
  • Respond to and troubleshoot all website issues meeting agreed service levels
  • Lead on SEO analysis and recommendations, and implement, monitor and evaluate initiatives to track and improve SEO performance
  • Ensure that the website and MarTech platforms are secure and meet all relevant legal requirements (including data privacy) and standards (including accessibility)
  • Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and monitor competitor websites
  • Lead on MarTech platform user adoption - train and support staff to use marketing technology
  • Liaise with website and MarTech stakeholders to ensure business requirements are met and buy in achieved
Qualifications

Skills and experience required:
  • Proven experience of website management
  • A degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, or related qualification
  • Able to prioritise and manage multiple work streams
  • Excellent understanding of web-based design
  • Strong technical knowledge of web platforms and associated infrastructure and technology
  • Communicates credibly and effectively about digital platforms and technology
  • Extensive experience of content management systems (ideally Umbraco)
  • Strong project management experience working in agile and leading website development life cycles with third-party suppliers
  • Extensive UX capabilities, with experience of developing digital experiences to meet user needs/behaviours, including accessibility requirements
  • Experience using Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Search Console and third-party SEO tools, and website monitoring and performance tools
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML/CSS required
  • Knowledge and experience of working with MarTech platforms

Additional Information

We have a hybrid approach supporting work life balance, both working from home and meeting in the Birmingham office once or twice a week or engaging at client sites as per project requirements.

Given the current client and team structures, it is preferred for candidates to meet in the Birmingham office once or twice a week although applicants who are based elsewhere will still be considered. Our wider office locations include London, Bristol, Manchester, Leeds and Nottingham.
