At the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, a group of passionate and determined people work to design, develop, manufacture and race the cars driven by seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton and rising star George Russell.

The Team has set a new benchmark for Formula One success during the sport’s current Hybrid era, winning consecutive Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020, and the Constructors’ Championship in 2021.

We are looking for a passionate web editor to lead the content creation and delivery for the Team’s website. As our website editor, you will be managing the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team website and leading on content creation and delivery. You will drive content quality, optimise SEO and focus on creating the best user journey’s and experience.

Reporting to the Head of Digital, this role will be a member of the Communications team and must develop close working relationships with peers across the department, and the wider Marketing function, to ensure the highest standards of delivery. The successful candidate should be an experienced line manager as well as a skilled writer and content planner, with an eye for detail.

The role:

  • Lead the delivery and day-to-day ownership of the Team’s website.
  • Work alongside colleagues to ensure a cohesive output that aligns with the wider editorial, social media and e-commerce content plans.
  • Take the lead on identifying new content opportunities and optimising existing content for web.
  • Responsible for writing and publishing regular, high-quality content which maximises search visibility and user experience while using the correct tone of voice and bringing to life the team identity.
  • Liaise with both internal and external stakeholders, collaborating on team and partner campaigns.
  • Quality control of the website to ensure a consistent user experience, accuracy, SEO practices, governance, branding and imagery.
  • Ensure there is an optimised customer journey to partner sites, such as the Team’s e-commerce website.
  • Work alongside external agency and internal teams to produce reports and insight to refine our content strategy and improve website performance.
  • Work closely with external agencies to maintain, develop and optimise the Team’s web offering.
  • You will support the growth and development of the digital team, eventually taking on line management responsibilities.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven work experience as a web editor.
  • Being an active team leader with experience of line management.
  • Hands on experience with MS Office, InDesign, Photoshop or other publishing tools.
  • Experience using Google analytics.
  • Sound understanding and interpretation of search engine optimisation (SEO) practices to ensure appropriate structuring, tagging, metadata, keywords and copy.
  • UX design experience desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of digital trends, developments and tools.
  • Experience in managing web content as well as content management and analytics systems.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Creativity essential.
  • Strong planning and project management skill.
  • Educated to degree level and/or CIM qualification – or equivalent experience.
