Acute/Community Dietitian, Band 5 - Rotational Post

We are looking for an enthusiastic, flexible and committed dietitian to join our progressive acute and community dietetic teams at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. This is a rotational post, which will provide an excellent opportunity to gain experience of working in both acute and community settings.

This is an exceptional opportunity to gain broad clinical experience which will provide the post holders with an excellent base from which to develop your future professional career. Somerset Dietitians provide a wide range of specialist dietetic services in both the acute and community and you will have an opportunity to spend time with the specialist teams as part of your CPD.

In the acute team you will provide a high quality dietetic service working with the acute inpatient team providing a service to wards, other clinical areas and in outpatient clinics. In the community you will provide dietetic care to patients in community hospitals, clinics and during home visits. Patients are referred by GP’s and other HCP’s for a range of long term conditions. You will be responsible for organising and managing a diverse caseload.

The successful applicant will have proven experience within a nutrition and dietetics healthcare setting from their work or clinical placements, underpinned by a relevant degree/diploma and HCPC registration. The ability to work independently as well as part of a supportive team is essential.

Both teams take student Dietitians from the University of Plymouth for their placements and also actively encourage training and CPD.

As this post, when working in the Community rotation, this will require a significant amount of travel so you will need to be able to travel efficiently to different places.

Somerset is a beautiful rural county close to the popular holiday destinations of Devon and Cornwall.

Whether you are a Band 5 looking to progress your professional career or a newly qualified dietitian ready to step up, we want to hear from you.
