Vacancy: Development Plant Technician

Location: Culham

Our Hydrogen Technologies Sector has openings for Development Plant Technicians to assist in commissioning and manufacturing trials and commercial production runs at the new Culham Development Plant achieving required product quality and on time delivery.

These roles are at the forefront of the process development and scale-up effort and of customer sample manufacturing for a business producing and developing new to world technology, supporting a complex fast changing research, development and rapidly growing manufacturing environment

Your responsibilities:
  • Manufacture inks and coatings to agreed trial plans, with ability to apply problem solving and full documentation of all observations.
  • Support the commissioning of development plant equipment.
  • Setup and run development coating trials and other prototyping equipment.
  • Work with the Development Plant Lead and Process Engineers to ensure all products are manufactured to the trial plan, standard operating procedures and agreed customer specifications, on time and in full.
  • Follow trial plans, drawings, procedures and control plans to ensure high quality standards.
  • Contribute to the development of new materials, components and products.
  • Prepare and contribute to documentation, including trial plans, batch sheets, Bills of Materials, Product Specifications and Standard Operating Procedures.

Requirements for the role:
  • Educated to A-level or HNC in a science or engineering subject or relevant work experience.
  • Experience or knowledge of any of the following is advantageous:
  • Manufacturing experience in light industry using semi-automated
  • Knowledge of Screen Printing, Ink Making, Coating and/or Component Assembly.
  • Training or experience in the manufacture of Electrolyser or similar components
  • Team Player with great interpersonal and communication skills
  • High work standards with a commitment to quality
  • Self-motivated and adaptable with the ability to work independently
