Solar PV Designer required (immediate start available) Salary : £42k-47k per annum Hours of Work : 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08.00 am till 5.00 pm. Due to company growth Tomato Energy have an exciting opportunity for a multi-skilled Solar PV Technical Design Engineer to join our team. You’llundertake the design function for the whole lifecycle of PV projects including the full design & specification and commissioning of PV installations. Working with various areas of the business including Sales, Development & Design Engineers, Supply Chain, Project Management and Installation teams, youll deliver system designs for commercial, domestic and industrial Solar PV installations. As a PV Designer you will be responsible for the design, layout and sizing of photovoltaic (PV) systems. Working alongside electrical engineers and other professionals to ensure that PV systems are integrated seamlessly into a building or structure. In order to be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of Electrical Engineering principles and be able to apply them to real-world scenarios and have knowledgeable in using solar design software. Roles & Responsibilities As the Solar PV Technical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for: Reviewing, approving and recommending technical designs and processes to enhance performance of Solar PV Designs Leading on designs including shading analysis, 3D modelling, electrical single-line diagrams, panel schedules and connection diagrams, using AutoCAD software. Working with supply chain to identify parts and components to be used in current and future PV projects. Communicating effectively with clients to ensure design and system proposals are fully understood. Be the technical point of contact for key stakeholders, project development, operations and external clients Performing computer simulation of solar PV generation system performance Adhering to procedures and safety standards while developing new processes.
