Job description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Design Technology Technician to work in a fantastic department of a secondary school in Maidenhead, Berkshire, from September.

The successful candidate will have a background in Product Design; Resistant Materials or Engineering; or experience of working within a Secondary School Design Technology department. Experience of working within a school environment is desirable although not essential. The department is a well-resourced and purpose built facility consisting of a suite of workshops, graphic design facilities, textiles and food technology rooms.

The role will be to prepare materials, tools and teaching equipment for lesson demonstrations and classes throughout the school in KS3 and KS4.

The successful candidate will support the Design Technology department and will work directly with all department staff to help deliver an engaging and practical curriculum .

Applicants should feel confident to support the teaching staff with day to day preparation of materials, equipment and tools but should also have the ability to motivate, inspire and support students .

We are looking for a motivated individual who has a passion for DT and good subject knowledge as well as the ability to drive and encourage students’ interest in the subject.
