Deputy Manager

Supporting the Manager in the day to day operation of the service, you will deputise as directed in their absence and be responsible for the direct supervision and line-management of staff.

In the market town of Wetherby in West Yorkshire, Wharfedale House is home for 18 adults with physical disabilities. We have lovely views of the River Wharfe and the surrounding countryside. A short walk from Wetherby town square, we are close to shops, pubs, cafes, a library, colleges, and a sports centre. York and Leeds are also nearby

Your duties will include:

  • Responsibility for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery.
  • Promoting independence and choice to our residents, meeting requirements of person-centred plans.
  • Ensuring relevant legislation, policies and standards are adhered to.
  • Oversee and audit the ordering, storage and administration of medicines.
  • Supporting with recruitment events and campaigns and in the recruitment process i.e. shortlisting and interviewing of applicants.

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A level of professional development and registration (may include level 5 leadership in health and social care), dependant on location.
  • Experience of providing direct personal and social care.
  • Experience of managing a team of support staff.
  • Experience of working with customers who have physical and/or learning disabilities.
  • To work flexibly in accordance with rostered hours.
