As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, there has been a substantial increase in the number of organisations requesting our expertise. To meet rising volumes, we are seeking to recruit an Deputy Logistics Manager to join our existing national team of operatives.

The role of the Deputy Logistics Manager is to support all deliveries and logistics across the estate, and deputise for the Logistics manager.
  • Support the Logistics Manager, supervising the team of Logistics Co-Ordinators in all day to day activities to include BAU, Replens, Home Testing, adhoc requests and client specific accounts over seeing movements between all locations - eg lab to lab, swab site to lab, from Regional Health Centres to relevant labs, warehouse to any CPD location etc
  • Overview the import and export to/from the UK ensuring compliance with customs regulations
  • Support business strategies with research and future planning to support Cignpost as the leading provider
  • Working closely with the Warehouse team to ensure smooth day to day running and weekly planning for all goods in and out of the Warehouse
  • Working closely with B2B, D2C and Lab teams to ensure smooth day to day running of sample and kit deliveries between sites
  • Monitor performance levels and costs for all logistics partners
  • Resolving any logistics inconsistencies or delays
  • Responsible for management of the company’s fleet of mobile laboratories, including vehicle maintenance, tax and working with the Logistics team to ensure compliant movement of vehicles internationally
  • Working with the Asset Manager and Client Account Managers, responsible for the day to movements of the Luton fleet, recording all activity and associated costs
  • To become a super user of inventory and logistics management system, ensuring all staff are fully trained and operational
  • Deputise, via rotated shifts, for the Logistics Manager when on site at Slough
  • General support for the Logistics Manager with all day-to-day operations
  • Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety regulations on site
  • Seek and lead continuous improvement opportunities

Job Requirements
  • Experience within Logistics supervision
  • Experience managing a team of direct reports
  • Strong leadership skills and excellent communicator
  • Extremely comfortable working at pace and with a degree of ambiguity
  • Highly organised with a strong bias for action and ability to effectively prioritise
  • Works well within a cross functional team
  • Problem solver
  • Setting high standards of customer service within the team
  • Comfortable with using MS Office suite or able to learn quickly (Word, Outlook, Excel, PPT, Teams)
