As a result of staff changes we are now recruiting for an interim Deputy Head of School in Engineering. This will be an interim position fixed initially for nine months. The role holder will be expected to work with the interim Head of School to help make strategic planning decisions around staffing, portfolio and other activities that drive forward the new University strategy. The successful role holder must be committed to putting Student Success, Inclusivity and Culture, Impactful Research & Knowledge Exchange, and Connected and Sustainable Campuses at the heart of what we do.
Applications for this interim post are welcomed from existing staff across the whole Faculty of Engineering and Science at AC3 (Senior Lecturer) and above, and will constitute up to 50% of your role (as agreed by the Interim Head of School). If the successful candidate is currently AC3 they will move to SP44 at the start of AC4 for the duration of this role. After the end of the role, colleagues would revert to AC3 at the appropriate spine point which reflects the time period.
Other duties – e.g. teaching and research - will be allocated through the Advanced Workload Planning tool in discussion with the interim Head of School. You will be embedded within a highly collaborative senior management structure, and need to build a close working relationship with the Deputy Dean, as well as the wider Faculty Executive Committee.
