The Role

Reporting into the Senior Delivery Manager this role is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of specific technology solutions at Wembley. Working closely with key business stakeholders, this role delivers technology using both internal and third party development teams and requires experience in both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies,

This particular project is focused on Club Wembley Re-Sales. Experience of payment and/or general ticketing, membership technology will be beneficial.
Key Accountabilities
Project Delivery

• Using the appropriate delivery methodology for the requirement, the Delivery Manager will:-
• If Agile, use Agile methodology across one or more cross-functional agile development teams, including:- Use of FA agile standard methodology adopting key concepts of scrum, sprints, back-logs and key artefactsWorking with Product Managers facilitate effective product planning, back-log management and clear delivery planTranslate requirements into deliverable sprints ensuring ongoing and effective Sprint Planning, management and communicationSupport the day to day activities of an agile team and keep them honest with respect to the methodology being used.
• If Waterfall, ensure projects are delivered on time, in scope and within budget, including: Collection and sign-off of all functional and non-functional deliverablesDevelopment and sign-off of high level technical designCreation/use of delivery plan with clear milestones and gatesAgreement and sign-off of clear user acceptance criteriaContinually idenitfy and mitigate impediments to successful delivery
  

Project Governance

• Agile Projects: Ensure standard FA Agile Methology is used where possibleImplement standard metrics to monitor development progress, e.g. velocity, burndown and quality.
• Waterfall Projects:- Standard FA Waterfall stages, gates and artefacts are communicated, commonly understood and respected.Implement best practice metrics to monitor resource & financial utilisation and progressEnsure status against time and scope is measured and reported to stakeholders
• Ensure central Business Management Project Office requirements are met including RAG status, Sprint/Project Plan and RAID, Product/Project Dashboard.
• Ensure Steering Group with senior stakeholders is in place for Product/Project delivery review.
• Ensure all projects follow standard FA IT change control processes and releases are communicated in an effective and timely manner.
  

Other

• Support the development and continuous improvement of IT policies specifically the adoption of agile delivery best practice.
• Represent Technology on cross-functional Product/Project teams and promote collaboration and mutual understanding of delivery methodologies.
• Proactively demonstrate required behaviours in line with the expectations of the role.
• Executes additional tasks as required in order to meet The FA’s changing priorities.
What we are looking for

Essential

• Undergraduate degree
• Demonstrable history of successfully delivering IT projects in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies across all stages of the software development life-cycle.
• Skills and experience of using JIRA/Confluence and UX and UI Design
• Ability to work alongside key stakeholders
• Excellent interpersonal skills, relationship building, communication, influencing
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Effective communicator for all levels of the organisation – both written and verbal
• Good judgement: identify project sensitivities, make good decisions and know correct escalations
• Ability to manage cross-functional teams without line-management responsibilities
• Experience of working with third party development partners.

• Other Project Methodology Cerfication e.g. Prince
• Experience of working in an Elite Sports Environment
• Experience/knowledge of football at any level.
