Care Assistant Day Worker.

For this role, you will be working with a number of people with

adults and that require extra needs through the day (hours 8am to

8pm). You will be responsible for the care and wellbeing of the

patients dealing with a variety of different mental health issues.

As a support worker you will find yourself working in a variety of

settings, including people’s own homes, in health and social care

settings such as supported living services or care homes, and out

in the community.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited

To
  • Assisting clients with care such as grooming, washing and
maintaining personal hygiene standards Preparing and serving

healthy, nutritious meals, taking into account any special dietary

needs and personal preferences
  • Identifying activities that would appeal to the patients and
ensuring that they are suitably stimulated
  • Preparing food and drinks for patients
  • Contributing to a clean, well-organized and pleasant
environment for all patients
  • Performing light housekeeping duties
  • Lifting, moving, positioning and transporting clients
  • Providing social companionship
  • Ensuring clients take their prescribed medication on time
  • Assisting with physical therapy exercises
  • Escorting clients to and from appointments
  • Taking clients’ temperatures, pulse and weight
  • Following care plans created by medical staff
  • Running errands for clients or accompanying them on
errands
  • Reporting any changes in health or behaviour
  • Great problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt and act
accordingly to situations.
  • A high level of patience and emotional resilience.
  • A non-judgmental attitude regardless of a person’s needs.
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure and when dealing with
challenging situations.
  • Experience of working with people with mental health issues in
the past in a similar setting.
  • The ability to keep up with changing standards and codes of
conduct in the social care sector.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience as a care worker, working with venerable adults and
children with a variety of mental health issues
  • DBS check and all required checks as well as clean criminal
record.
  • Preferable to be able to drive as locations can be spread
out.
  • Preferable to have level 3 qualifications in relevant subject
to health and social care.
