Reporting to the Head of Development and Application Support, you’ll work in partnership with the Analytics team (who are client facing) to develop solutions and new products for Fund Providers, Advisers and other Defaqto clients.
You will analyse the requirements described by the Analytics team and collaborate with them to design compelling, creative and informative visualisations that support decision-making for clients and stakeholders.
You will then design and develop suitable data queries and transformations and use appropriate BI tools (likely PowerBI) to deliver interactive reports and appropriate data to clients. What you’ll be doing

Building and supporting the evolution of the Defaqto analytics proposition, creating and maintaining a suite of eye-catching BI solutions

Playing an active role in defining Defaqto’s analytic data architecture ensuring that a BI layer is implemented in such a way as to remove any complexities, make data querying and display straightforward

Working with the IT Development and Architecture Teams to ensure that the capture, transformation and storage of BI data is designed and built to meet the needs of the Analytics team

Building up a great understanding of our customers, the type of data that is important to them and how best to serve this data using modern technologies

Acting as an internal consultant to customers of the Analytics data, giving guidance on how to consume and understand to meet their needs
What you need to succeed

You are an expert in creating models and reports in a modern, interactive BI tool such as Power BI, Tableau or Qlick, along with associated languages (DAX, M)

Excellent knowledge of data migration/ETL, data management, data analysis, and relational data models

SQL – strong table modelling skills and high calibre T-SQL experience including development of stored procedures

Experience of multiple aspects of design & build such as Reporting, ETL, Business Intelligence/Analysis, CLR etc

Ability to manage projects through to successful completion, co-ordinating and tracking of cross-department activity

Experience in database modelling and data architecture

Experience working within an Agile team environment

Analysis of complex systems to identify underlying data requirements

Effective team working and collaboration skills

Highly numerate with commercial and financial acumen

Good written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical colleagues
