Job Introduction

Brush Group are seeking are Cyber Security Analyst based in South Wales or our offices based in Leicestershire. The successful candidate will support the BRUSH IT strategy, focusing on the execution of the Cyber Security strategy and enabling the acceleration of our Cyber Security risk mitigation road map.

You will perform damage and risk mitigations, identify threats, and have experience instructing employees about cybersecurity best practices.

Role Responsibility
  • Keep up to date with the latest security and technology developments.
  • Research and evaluate emerging cyber security threats and ways to manage them.
  • Plan for disaster recovery and create contingency plans in the event of any security breaches.
  • Monitor for attacks, intrusions and unusual, unauthorised or illegal activity.
  • Test and evaluate security products.
  • Design new security systems or upgrade existing ones.
  • Identify potential weaknesses and implement measures, such as firewalls and encryption.
  • Investigate security alerts and provide incident response.
  • Monitor identity and access management, including monitoring for abuse of permissions by authorised system users.
  • Liaise with the Service Delivery and IT Infrastructure Manager in relation to cyber security issues and provide future recommendations.
  • Generate reports for both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders.
  • Maintain an information security risk register and assist with internal and external audits relating to information security.
  • Monitor and respond to ’phishing’ emails and ’pharming’ activity.
  • Assist with the creation, maintenance and delivery of cyber security awareness training for colleagues.
  • Give advice and guidance to staff on issues such as spam and unwanted or malicious emails.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert on IT Projects.

The Ideal Candidate

Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent

Skills & Experience:
  • Cyber/information/network security
  • MS Azure/Cloud
  • Hybrid On-Prem/Cloud Infrastructure
  • Information Systems Architecture
  • Previous exposure to Cyber Essentials advantageous
  • Experience with hybrid environments including on-premises and cloud services
  • Experience of documenting processes, standard operating procedures & work instructions
  • Ability to assess & recommend appropriate solution for business requirements
  • Ability to manage upwards clearly articulating areas of support and concerns
  • Facilitation and project management skills
  • Stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to define and work according to Standards
