About the role

NFU Mutual offer a wide range of insurance, from farming to your home and motor insurance, as well as financial services such as investments and pensions. Our branches across the UK are our network of agency offices headed up by one of more Agents and a team of sales and customer service advisers.

This is a fantastic opportunity at our Chorley Branch for a positive, friendly, customer focused individual looking for opportunities within the Insurance and Financial Services Sector.

As a Customer Support Advisor, you will play a key role in the success of an expanding local business, contributing to the smooth running of the office and ensuring the customer is at the heart of everything we do.

Providing exceptional customer service, you will handle enquiries, provide insurance quotations and undertake mid-term and renewal alterations and general sales tasks with a ‘can-do’ proactive attitude. You will also maximise inbound sales opportunities, cross selling to existing clients and assisting with renewal retention by using your excellent telephone manner to make the most of every call.

Put simply you will put our customers at the heart of your role by building and maintaining customer relationships, to enhance and protect NFU Mutual’s reputation and brand.

Another important part of your role will be to focus on your own continuous improvement to maintain your own knowledge and skills to sell professionally and compliantly. It’s important that you’re able to thrive in a small and busy team working environment, with enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support our members with their insurance through providing great customer service for their new business, policy amendments and renewal needs.
  • Involved in generating and prospecting sales across our General Insurance, Financial Services and Risk Management Services.
  • General administrative duties to ensure the smooth running of the office.
  • Process and manage accounting transactions, including premium collection, policy refunds and non-payment of premiums.
  • Investigate and process claims within delegated authority level.
  • Maintain own knowledge and skills to sell professionally and compliantly, delivering a consistently good experience to customers.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone positive, friendly and customer focused. You may have experience in insurance, financial services or customer services, either way we’d like to hear from you.

While building relationships with our customers and colleagues is a big part of your role, it’s important that you are focused and self-motivated to deal with various aspects of problem solving and working within a regulated environment.

Qualifications/Other

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) including Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.

This role falls under the Insurance Distribution Directive. This means there is a requirement for Continuous Professional Development in role, in addition to ongoing screening checks once in post.
