Customer Services Apprenticeship
Start Date: September 2022
Duration: 3 years and 3 months

About us!
Customer Services is responsible for supporting the entire Airbus fleet through providing in-service solutions, maintenance requirements and procedures while ensuring continued Airworthiness and safety of the flying fleet. You will be the face of Airbus in front of our customers providing support and assistance with technical queries ensuring customer satisfaction with every interaction.
As a Customer Services Engineering Apprentice you will study with our Educational Training Partner Weston College to achieve qualifications, and your industry based work takes place at our world leading aircraft manufacturer site in Filton, Bristol. Upon completion of our 40 month programme you will gain a BEng (Hons) in Aerospace Engineering and work towards a professional IEng level award.
What you will be doing:
At Airbus Filton you will spend time in Customer Services immersing yourself in the day-to-day activity of supporting the entire Airbus fleet maintaining quality and airworthiness of our aircraft. You will undertake a range of on-site placement and have the opportunity to cover a number of disciplines that will allow you to gain a broad range of exposure to our world class Airbus commercial Aircraft programmes. You will develop a strong customer mindset where you will apply technical knowledge to solve customer issues and provide industry leading support.
This apprenticeship is delivered through a combination of on the job training at Airbus and college based learning over the duration of the 4 year programme.
The types of placements you can expect to undertake are the following:
  • Scheduled Maintenance - Work with the Design Office, Customers and Aviation Authorities to define and establish the Airbus Maintenance Program.
  • Service Bulletins Retrofit solutions - Provide recommended, mandated and operator requested in-service modifications.
  • Ground Support Equipment & Tooling - designing, testing and validating vital tools and equipment to perform maintenance operations on aircraft.
  • Technical Data - Production of approved maintenance procedures and parts catalogue for the continued airworthiness of their aircraft operations.
  • Spares Engineering - Providing support to major and daily repairs and SATAIR by resolving technical issues in coordination with procurement, production, logistics and quality.
  • Customer Affairs - Providing support to central sales & marketing through strategic digital marketing campaigns, paid social media, web design, advertising and media analytics.
  • Chief Engineers - Assure safety of the in-service fleet, provide continued Airworthiness and provide operator solutions.
In addition to your work placements and studies, the apprenticeship offers a number of valuable training opportunities covering a variety of subjects (e.g. Quality, Supply Chain, Repair Solutions, Design, Stress and Fatigue, Airworthiness and Certification) as well as ad-hoc project work from a variety of sources worldwide.
Part of the future role of a Customer Services Engineering Apprentice will involve working with suppliers to establish an understanding of capability and manufacturing capacity, and become familiar with the variety of manufacturing techniques.
In addition to your work placements and studies, there are a number of excellent training opportunities open to you that cover a variety of subjects, as well as encouraging you to get involved in extracurricular education and community projects designed to broaden your experience and help you develop both your professional and personal skills along the way.
Skills:
As the successful candidate you must be able to demonstrate the following either;
  • 96* UCAS points or above at A-Level standard or equivalent, to include two STEM based subjects such as Maths, Physics, ICT, Computing, Electronics.
  • Five GCSE at Grade 4 (Grade C and above) and above including Mathematics, English and Double Science or equivalent qualification.
