An exciting opportunity has arisen for a values-based and forward-thinking manager to lead our Sport and Public Services team at Sunderland College on its journey to excellence. To meet our high expectations, you will bring a strong track record of successful teaching, learning and assessment and be able to demonstrate an ability to lead and motivate our students and people.

Sunderland College prides itself on providing outstanding learning opportunities for students through the implementation of our career focused curriculum - the post holder will be a key driver in ensuring we meet our vision for excellence. This is an exciting time for Sport and Public Services within Sunderland College, having recently been awarded the BTEC College of the Year by Pearson and benefitting from significant investment in our resource, including our multi-million-pound Sports Academy and Innovation Space (which includes a 360 degree immersive igloo and a motion analysis suite). In addition, we have nationally recognised sports academies, are a TASS dual career accredited centre in collaboration with Sport England and NGBs and have strong partnerships with key local and national employers within the Sport and Public Services sector.

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and innovative individual who has the vision and expertise to further shape our careers focused curriculum and ensure outstanding learning opportunities across our 16-19 study programmes, adult and Higher Education provision. We are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and experience from both industry and education to inform curriculum development. Having a minimum of a degree in a relevant subject, role modelling the professional values of Education Partnership North East, leading by example and managing to inform a culture of excellence are essential criteria for this post.
