Crisis Recovery Worker

Salary: £20,994 full time equivalent

15 hours per week

Based: The Moorings Devon - Barnstaple

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are dedicated to the principles of social inclusion, to work with adults with mental health needs. Based in our services in The Moorings Devon - Barnstaple you will be part of a team supporting people who access our crisis non referral service. The services operates between 6pm and 11pm Thursday to Monday (including Bank Holidays). and provides crisis de-escalation and reduce immediate distress, provide information and support around crisis prevention for visitors and their families/carers accessing the service; signposting into other relevant and appropriate services, opportunities or agencies in the wider community.

Working as part of a team, you will work closely with mental health workers, GPs, Crisis Team, A&E, Police, partners and other agencies. You will demonstrate an ability to prioritise work and will also be responsible for administrative tasks.

You will be educated to a minimum ‘A’ Level Standard (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care), have awareness of/lived experience and/or experience of working with people who have experienced mental health issues, particularly in a crisis setting, and will have the demonstrated skills and ability to help others identify and overcome barriers. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate a proactive and highly motivated attitude.
