JOB TITLE: Credit Control & Projects Assistant

REPORTING TO: Finance Manager

The Credit Control & Projects Assistant is an important role in the business to ensure that Specac collects all cash due from sales to customers in an efficient manner to help achieve business financial targets and sustainable growth. This role will also play a part in the transition to a new ERP system and other projects as specified and agreed.

Credit Control & Project Assistant responsibilities:

  • Credit control for both Specac Ltd and Specac Inc including managing all relevant external and internal stakeholders
  • Using CreditSafe reporting to monitor customer credit risk and advise the business on the most appropriate methods to trade / manage risk
  • Maintain accurate and proactive weekly reporting of Overdue Debt to business
  • Raising credit notes where necessary, following manager approval protocols
  • Weekly review of pro forma and CODP reports to highlight any issues
  • Update Sales on problem accounts on a weekly basis e.g., Customer Holds / Proformas
  • Manage import and re-export documentation on RAs for HMRC records.
  • Weekly Consignment stock reconciliations
  • Projects as advised by CFO / Manager
  • Cover for Invoicing and Cash books and journal posting as required.
  • Audit support department preparation as required
  • ERP system preparation, testing and specification support as necessary
  • Creating and Implementing Continuous Improvement initiatives

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience working in a finance / credit control department.
  • Familiar with International banking.
  • Good communication skills within the business and with all customers worldwide
  • Demonstrate a result driven approach to tasks.
  • Good IT skills in using Microsoft and ERP systems
  • Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Fourthshift, Microsoft Dynamics systems would be useful, coupled with studying for an AAT or similar qualification.

Other Requirements

  • Legally able to work and live in the UK without company sponsorship
  • Able to commit to hybrid working at least 3 days in our Orpington (BR5) office
