We are currently recruiting for a Coordinator for our domiciliary care service working from our office located in Caerphilly, just on the outskirts of the town. Whilst this is an office based position there will be times when you will be required to cover or share care shifts with the other coordinators, these will be paid at an increased rate. The role consists of having a cross section of staff and clients who the coordinator has full responsibility for. Office duties will be split to cover work within the office and external visits to meet and review client care packages, carryout spot checks and medication audits. This position holds a lot of responsibility and would suit someone who is looking to progress in to a management role. Applicants need to have or be working toward a level Three in Health & Social Care as a minimum and be registered on the Social Care Register.

Wages: Salary Starts at £11.50 Overtime Rate £14.00 P/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • To assist the senior coordinator in the running of the office.
  • To maintain your own care and staff documentation and records.
  • To identifying and recruiting new care staff.
  • To attend staff and management meetings
  • To carry out your own staff supervisions
  • To manage staff absences and any disciplinary sessions
  • To monitor and arrange staff training requirements through a training officer
  • To cover a weekend rotation with others
  • To cover the out of hours rotation with others
  • To cover care shifts when required as part of your duties

Job Requirements:

  • You must drive and have access to a vehicle.
  • The ability to use a computer and input information is important using word and excel.
  • You need to be a good communicator, someone who can easily talk to others, including other professionals involved in client care.
  • A level of time flexibility is important as this role. As you may be asked to start earlier or finish later than your normal working hours.
  • Knowledge of the Newport area is an advantage but not essential.

Qualifications:

  • As a Coordinator you will be expected to have as a minimum Health & Social Care Level 3 and be willing to continue your training to Level 4, possibly level 5 if you wish to progress further.
