Patterdale Hall is looking to appoint a Cook. The successful candidate will be methodical and organised in their approach to work and have the ability to work unsupervised and calmly under pressure. Applicants must have previous experience in food preparation and knowledge of menu planning.

This role would suit someone with the passion for cooking who would like to work in a far more relaxed environment than that of hotels / hospitality industry. Working at Patterdale Hall also provides the benefits of:

  • Flexible shifts i.e. some weeks may be just Monday to Friday
  • Shifts are likely to be done by around 7pm in the evening
  • Allowing the successful candidate to Cook in a less pressured environment than hotels, restaurants etc.

This is a position to cope with the demands of a 7-day a week Centre operation. The hours of work are on average 37 per week, working split shifts on a rota basis. The salary will be between £22,853 and £28,414 per annum (from 01 September 2022), dependent on skills and experience. An attractive benefits package is available. There is the option to live-in at Patterdale Hall in self-contained accommodation.

Patterdale Hall is a Residential Adventure Learning Centre, based in Glenridding, close to the town of Penrith in Cumbria, on the shores of Lake Ullswater, which provides a variety of land and water-based activities for school children and commercial clients. Patterdale Hall is owned and run by Bolton School in Lancashire.
