We have an exciting opportunity available for a Facilities Control Technician to join our team at our distribution Centre in Corby. The role requires the technician to provide a comprehensive maintenance, breakdown, and repair service, on a shift basis. The Facilities operation is responsible for the reliable and safe operation of all equipment processes on-site.

This shift pattern will rotate weekly, you’ll be required to work 6:30am-2pm and 2pm-9:30pm.

What you will do to be successful in this role:

  • Front-to-end support and management of conveyor technical issues.
  • Identification of opportunities, development of proposals, and implementation of solutions that deliver tangible improvements to operations and the facilities departments.
  • Management of contractors, suppliers, internal resources, including allocation of work, preparation of required specifications and ensuring the contractor delivers to the agreed specification.
  • Ensuring all work adheres to Health & Safety guidelines, policies, legislation and requirements.
  • Appropriate, quality, communications to all relevant parties.
  • Liaise closely with the Operations, Facilities and Projects teams.
  • Responsibility for the coaching, training, mentoring, and best practice, to others within the Facilities department.
  • Quick incident response to Operations related issues; effecting repairs or making adjustments to ensure the maximum uptime, safety and operating efficiency of the equipment.
  • Taking ownership of workshop/office activities to support the above, including: spares availability, improvement of procedures, sourcing items, etc.

What you will have to be successful in this role:

  • A recognised trade apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
  • PLC experience – preferably Siemens S7.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office and Planned Preventative Maintenance Systems.
  • Electrical and/or Control experience in a logistics or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience of working with the pressures associated within a time critical, distribution/operational/manufacturing environment.
  • Training and Experience in the operation, fault-finding and repair to; basic electronics, industrial electrical applications, pneumatics and hydraulics, motor/gear boxes, drives, conveyors, tools and equipment.
  • Self-Managing person with the ability to plan and manage priorities effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and able to communicate to stake holders at all levels.
  • Excellent data analysis and problem-solving skills for the evaluation of logistics and technical issues.
