Control Room Operator - Burner

We are currently looking for an experienced Control Room Operator - Burner to join and join our friendly team at Tunstead Cement Plant in Buxton.

Role Responsibility

In the role of Control Room Operator - Burner you will be responsible for:

• Coordinate, monitor and to carry out raw milling, coal/petcoke milling, cement milling, kiln burning, cement despatch, and laboratory duties required for the production of cement material.
• Meeting the customer’s, quality, environmental output requirements in a safe and cost effective manner.
• Plant operations are 365 days, 24/7 and the role requires flexibility to ensure effective running of the plant. This involves night working, weekend and Bank holidays and being on call if necessary.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Control Room Operator - Burner will have experience of:

• Significant relevant experience in cement plant operations or a similar industrial/chemical process environment
• Experience in raw milling, pyro-processing and laboratory duties
• Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
• Knowledge and understanding of environmental and quality standards associated with the cement manufacturing process or similar chemical/industrial manufacturing
• Shift work
• Engineering qualification or good understanding of mechanical/electrical processes and IOSH (desirable)
