Job Description

Main job purpose

The post holder is responsible for arranging and controlling contractor activity on site in order to deliver a safe, effective, value for money service to meet the needs of planned and emergency maintenance work, task events, projects and overhauls.

Responsibilities
  • Manage on-site contractor activities on a day-to-day basis to minimise delays and maximise productivity through the entire process
  • Ensure all contractors have suitable risk assessments and method statements that comply with site safety, health and environmental standards and instructions.
  • Ensure that all costs are pre-authorised using accurate estimates before work is undertaken and review and approve invoices as they are submitted.
  • Set up, negotiate and get the correct approvals for all annual orders across
  • Verify and enforce use of common systems to scope, manage and sign off contractor work to maintain a consistent, efficient approach

Skills And Knowledge Needed
  • 5 years+ in a maintenance/engineering related role.
  • Experience of contractor management or P&S desirable.
  • Broad knowledge of maintenance and engineering terminology.
  • Competent with Lotus notes, SAP, Excel and the ability to learn new IT systems such as T Card or Primavera P6.
  • Adherence to systems and ways of working
  • Good knowledge and experience in following safety requirements and site instructions.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Good communication and influencing skills
  • Flexible and proactive
  • Confidence to identify and feedback system improvements
